What is happening in the world of WCBB?! Middle Tennessee got a couple high profile transfers last year, now FGCU getting in on the act. Interesting. Oh, and DeCosta to LMU too.

Bell was a player who was so good coming out of HS that she was being touted by none other than Lebron. This is yet another blue chip transfer that is heading to a lesser program (Slocum, Austin, Bell).

Maybe Bell just wants to go somewhere warmer with a nearby beach?

To me, it seems that these "high profile" transfers were ill-suited for the P5 schools to begin with for any number of reasons-personality, academic, delusion or what have you. I have yet to see one "emerge as a true star" yet. Austin seems solely about a need to be the center of the focus of the team and not about skills or team. Still curious she followed an assistant coach to Ole Miss. Slocum may be "slightly different as Arkansas is still a P5 and would have made the NCAAT so I would be hard pressed to really qualify it as a "lesser program" to the likes of Middle Tennessee or FGCU. Again, when I see one of these ladies make Honorable Mention AA or get drafted, then I will be curious how others play out.

The one common thread for Slocum, Austin and Bell is they are all transferring from colleges close to home to colleges a long way from home. Dorothy and Toto would be incredulous.
