Wrote about it in another thread, but I really like watching Marshall and Taylor has been a starter in each of his four seasons.

They move the ball so beautifully and Taylor can do anything on the floor except block shots. Good defender too. True combo guard.

I'd be so pumped if he suited up for the Huskies next year.

I haven’t checked in a while, any transfer targets with mutual interest? Or has Hurley and co been keeping it secret?

I do see a benefit of adding Miranda now to lay the foundation for bigs in 2024 w/ him and Singare. Miranda would instantly be a top backup at the 5.

Something Miranda said about UConn prior:

UConn: "I love Coach Hurley's style of coaching. He pushes his guys really hard. He is really on top of his stuff. I feel like they have what I need to get to the next level. No space for mistakes or anything like that so that would keep me on top of my stuff."

Georgia has gotten a LOT better this offseason:

  • 20th overall class of '23: 74 Cain, 83 James, 99 Demary, 102 Jordan
  • Added transfers
    • Noah Thomasson 6’3 195 GR from Niagara, 19.5p, 3.8r, 3.5a, 38.6 3P%
    • RJ Melendez 6’7 205 JR from Illinois, former #91, 21.5 mpg, 6.0p, 3.5r, 37.6 fg%
    • Russel Tchewa 7’0 280 GR from USF, 11.1p, 8.6r, 60.6 fg%
    • Jalen Deloach 6’9 215 JR from VCU, 9.7p, 6.9r, 1.1s, 1.4b, 56.2 FG%, 24.5 mpg,
  • Four players close to starter minutes return.
I'm not a fan of Mike White, though, but this is a season to see if he's got it.

I'm with you on White. Friends (florida grads) wet their pants over White when they hired him but were not so enthusiastic after a year or two and then he leaves to replace Crean at Georgia? Really bizarre.

With his record, what could he be telling these kids to induce them to join his team? Sure will be interesting to see what he does with this new roster.

He was on the fast track to being fired at Florida, it’s like Shaka leaving Texas for Marquette.

You are right, but at that time I thought that was premature for Florida. His team last year couldn’t shoot, but finished 54th in Kenpom which was his worst team there. A two year stretch in the 40-60 range isn’t great, but considering his hot start there it seemed quick to want to move on. Golden’s team finished 74th this year. I wouldn’t be surprised if White proves to be the better coach over time even if Florida is a much easier place to bring talent to.

I want no part of Miranda, guy is about $$$ nothing else. Who would go to NIT State for any reason other than short term fix? But at end of day if Hurley talks to him and feels good I’d obv trust that. Culture is king!

Another suitable guard to add for PG and SG depth:

9.1p, 3.2a, 1.4 3PM, 36.6 3P%, 83.7 FT%, 1.1s, just 1.5 TO

That stat-line is almost Alleyne-esque in terms of shooting efficiency and I like how he can play the 2 or 1. 6'3 180 from Cuse.

One of the hopefully many last minute additions of note:

Can't shoot from 3 (but good numbers from line), but one of the best defenders in the country bar none. If we needed 1:1 Jackson replacement...

Saw some rumors about Auburn and doubt he lasts until draft declaration date, but this would be a homerun Jackson replacement

He's going through the draft process and was invited to the combine so his decision isn't likely to come until after the draft removal date

This is pretty interesting if we're looking for a veteran big. Didn't play a lot last year coming off ACL, but will be 2 years removed from the injury next year. Might want to come home.

I looked more into Perrott-Hunt and there's a lot of Joey C in his game: 6'3 195, 14.3p, 2.2a, 42.3 3P%, 1.9 3PM, 83.5 FT%...played the 2 and 3 at South Dakota.

We (and every other team) could use a shooter and Perrott-Hunt is one of the best from the perimeter and charity stripe.
