Clark shot at 39%fg and she is still the number 1. Then I can't see the possibility for her to drop the spot.

Is Angel Reese really only a junior?

And why the heck isn’t Ash on this list.

Who are you taking off the list?
Is this a serious question? Reagan Richardson obviously. :D

But on a serious note, Shade has had a better tournament and is more essential to her team than everyone from 19 and below on this list. The numbers make that clear, if we have to rely on such imperfect evidence. But if I wanted to make a more serious case, I’d say she’s had a better tournament than Fulwiley or Paopao, Rice or Sherrod. I could go on.

Kiki Rice's NCAA tournament stats:
22ppg, 6.5rpg, 2.5apg, 52%FG, 17/17 from FT line, just one turnover
Team's leading scorer in NCAAs. Massively undervalued at 21.

Aziaha James' NCAA tournament stats:
20.5ppg, 2.5rpg, 3.5apg, 47%FG, 5/5 from FT line; just one turnover .
Team's leading scorer in NCAAs. Massively undervalued at 23.

IMO, Flau'jae has been LSU's best player in the NCAA tournament. Sherrod is CO's engine and defensive stopper. Maddy has been solid.

I’m not seeing criteria listed in the article so I guess it’s the eye test. I haven’t seen all of the players listed but Ashlynn has certainly been a top performer. I guess she’s not flashy enough.

At least this Twitter account showed what they based their list on

Thoughts indeed. Like why does the evidence cited so clearly argue for switching Fulwiley and Shade? A case could even be made for putting Ash first -- lower point totals rebounds and assists than Watkins, but a better shooting percentage... and one wonders how to compare them as defenders.

As the overall #1 seed, South Carolina, rightfully, has the easiest path and has played low seeds. I would argue that #3 seed UConn had a tougher road, comparatively, and therefore Ash’s contribution more impressive.

If this is the list for the sweet 16 tournament Shade should definitely be in.
Too much bias in here.

The ESPN article is giving year to date stats, not the first two games of tournament. It is completely misleading having the list. Of course they put CC as number one. If they go by the two tournament games then those stats out to reflect that.

Ash should definitely be on this list if it is based on the first two games! As it is!

Kiki Iriafen should be before Cameron Brink. She's the reason Stanford is even in this tournament.

Paige has been the best and most complete player in this tournament so far

No Ashlynn Shade???
It appears that the statistics on this chart are from the REGULAR SEASON. See Paige's
ppg number of 21.8. Paige, of course, had 28 points in game 1 and 32 points in game 2
for a 30 PPG average. Thus the lack of listing for Ash who has had 26 pts and then
19 points = 22.5 ppg DOES THAT SOUND CORRECT??

Hmmm. If I had noticed that the stats were from the regular season, I wouldn't have posted the article, as I agree that it's a bit misleading. Chalking this one up to too many tabs, not enough focus.
