There are a bunch of similarities. The front court depth, team length, shot blocking, experience, shooting being a little bit of a concern, no real 2 guard just a steady PG and a bunch of wings. Even individual pieces like Jackson reminds me of Gay and Gaffney reminds me of Austrie.

The only real similarity is the name on the uniform.

Put Marcus Williams on this team and I’d agree.

( Rudy, boone, and rashad would hurt either)

But if you made me choose one from 06, it’s easily Marcus.

There is a level of aggression in Jackson that Rudy Gay never had. The players on this team are intense. No floaters.
There's an intense competition for playing time that UConn hasn't had in a while. That has the kind of effect on players that coaches love.

Almost opposite of that team. Tonight they played so hard all game. 06 team only turned it on when they had to…2nd half of the Albany game.

Last year?
No. I didn’t think we looked nearly as good last year. We won easily but our defense this year is much better and our offensive strategy plan is more clear. The game just had a better feel to it. We look really talented all over the court and up and down the roster.

An exceptionally odd take considering Jackson had at least two floaters tonight and had the announcers talking about them.
Three I think. Made the first two and missed the third. Also, extra “aggression” in those instances would have led to a charge, so all around bizarre take.
