- The opening screen of the butler cheerleaders made me appreciate ours.
- Looks like we're not going to be allowed to play D in the paint again. SIGH.
- GREAT play at 12:30. On the run... Karaban to Ball to Spencer, who draws Samson's defender, then wraps a pass around that defender's body to toss it blind, right to Samson for the flush. Does basketball get any prettier than that?
- Our ball handling sucked early in the game. 7 TOs with 7 min left in 1st.
- At the half, we had nobody in double figures, but 6 players with 5 to 7 points.
- Butler shot 13 FTs to our 7 in the first half. But then again, we were allowing them to just drive to the hoop at will.
- Spencer's floater is deadly.
- Worried that the failure to get the ball in play at 8 min mark would come back to haunt us. Burnt a timeout we may have needed later, then turned it over on the inbounds following the TO.
- Newton was off his game, big time. Still came through with a big three in the clutch, but 3 of 12, including 1 of 8 from deep, along with 3 missed FTs and only 2 assists is very un-Newton-like.
- On the other hand, Castle started off a little slow, but came up with his best game yet. Nine boards, four dimes and a couple steals to go with a 5 of 9, 1 of 1 and 3 of 3 shooting line.
- Where exactly was the foul on Alex at 4:38?
- Spencer! 45 seconds left. 3 pointer. Money. That's your nail-in-the-coffin winning play right there.
- We made it a lot harder on the Bulldogs to get the shots they wanted in the 2nd half, and scored 53 2nd half points to turn a 7 point halftime deficit into a 7 point win.
- The 2nd half of this road win may have been a milestone moment in the season for us. It was team ball all the way, and everyone contributed. Can't afford a let down or loss of concentration against a mediocre Xavier team or a last place Georgetown next week.
