There is incredible physical talent and mental fortitude and control in both men and women athletes. Where each individual athlete finds the reserves to push through to world class, well, that is up to each and a personal, private thing. When talking heads speak their own words they mostly get it wrong. The NBC crew is doing an really third class job with these Olympics and the commercialism/ commercials per half hour are through the roof. Time to push both - NBC and the "Modern Era $$ Olympics" off the cliff. This was NBC's desperation move to get back into the sports media stream and it is not going well.
True story!
"TV ratings for the Olympics on NBC have been nothing short of abysmal so far, at least in comparison to the last Summer Olympics."

Brit announcers are a nice novelty for the first ten minutes. After that, they grate on my nerves. Yes, I know I can use a mute button, but that also kills the ambient sound of the game and the crowd. Some of the online replays are a Brit-free zone.

"Don't worry, female swimmer! We'll randomly interject your results at the end of our 1,000-word screed trashing your husband since NBC gave him too much camera time. You're welcome!" – BuzzFeed's Associate Editor of 'Internet Culture'

Wow. Highlights from an AMAZING duel between 2-time Olympic Champion Valerie Adams from New Zealand, and American Michelle Carter! Michelle Carter wins shot put gold medal on final throw

NBC seems to have gotten their act together a bit—by just getting out of the way!

Great throwing. The drama of a come-from-behind upset. And definitely two class acts. Loved seeing both of their sincere emotions once the results were finalized, after barely blinking throughout the 6 rounds trading blows up to that point!

Well you can definitely attribute the success of Michelle Carter to a man... in this case her father.... the great US Shot Putter Micheal Carter
