It could be a million things. Maybe we lost a recruit because someone made a bigger offer. Maybe he had a bad performance review. Maybe he has a bruised ego. Who knows.
Maybe it's all of them. He wouldn't say it just to make negative noise... he's mega frustrated and calling out what we're thinking.

Maybe Mora should stop complaining about NIL and conference and focus on coaching and his coaching hires. With the talent on the team, we should have at least 4 or 5 wins this year. Coaching decisions and plain out poor coaching is why we are where we are at. It isn't NIL, conference, refs, or whatever excuse he wants to make.

The best part is that people are afraid of him leaving. His decisions and coaching have led to us continuing the mess.

Mora has got to go. This UConn team is so poorly coached. Disgraceful. Really, 9 secs left and ball on 27 or 28 yard line, and Mora has his team throw a quick hitter for 5 yards, stopping the clock with 4 secs left. Time for an 83 yard FG to tie game. Just resign Jim.

This school really doesn’t care about football. Or they are just lost as to what to do about it.
Obviously hiring PP, Doofy Red Pants, and the snake were horrible decisions but what would you have them do at this point? Mora was the best we could get and it's pretty clear he's not up to it. What should the school do when he cuts and runs?

Could be that's all TR could find open. That's a tough spot to determine whether a coach is good or not. It would be much more appropriate to question pretty much every offensive play call in the third quarter. Charlton went into a shell on multiple series, and you have to think Mora condoned that, or was unwilling to step in.

There must be a way to parlay all of the college and NBA hoops success into fund raising for football, if it hasn't been considered by now. Texas guys like Voskuhl and Okafor would certainly see the value. Create some type of hoops alumni investment fund to start. They could invest and raise money with promotions and get UConn alumni to invest.

Meanwhile, came across this Student Managed Fund

Why on earth would our NBA basketball alumni fundraise for football?

I can't tell if you're joking or not.

Whatever it is. We are not doing it.

Find a coach that is concerned first, second, third about offense. The name of the game today is to outscore the opponent. Defense should be far less important. With today's QB who can run, it is too hard for defenses to shut them down. Now you just hope for a stop on one or two possessions. Offense, offense, offense.

This isn't on Mora. That was a garbage outlet pass. This loss is on the players and to a lessor extent the assistant coaches. Way too many dropped balls on offense AND defense. This was a very winnable game. Mora's point about the NIL is valid. Time to regroup, play the kids who MOST want to compete and figure out if/how UConn can raise the money to field a competitive team. Note: The players from CT showed that there is talent in the state.

Seriously? With 9 secs left, you HAVE TO throw deep. That throw should never have been made. Bad enough this team lacks talent, but does it also have to be clueless in game situations.

So your saying the 4 yard quick hitter with 9 seconds left was the play? Wow!

This IS ON MORA. Too conservative. No understanding of the offensive LOS.

Are you kidding? I'm sure guys like Ray and Kemba are bigger UConn fans than you.

We heard the same thing about Hurly a few years ago ("Can't win in the tournament"). I agree that this one really hurts, but we have to take a breadth. Mora's prior track record shouldn't be so easily dismissed. He's right about the NIL and he can't make the catches on the field. That said, I still think he gives us the best chance to turn things around. There are structural issues that have to be addressed (and I think they will be addressed).

This was never going to be an easy turnaround.

Different standards. With Hurley, the expectations were to be making deep runs in the tournament. We also had clear improvement year over year.

With Mora, the expectation is to be competent, which we are not and have actually taken a step back.

Additionally, Hurley has hit home runs with every assistant hire. Mora has missed with both his OC and DC, and by the looks of it, the Special teams coach as well.
