Season opening loss to St. Louis 89-52. See coach's comments on Sid:
Junior Sidney Wilson, a transfer from UConn, paced the Cougars on offense with 14 points and seven rebounds. Sid, the only SIUE player in double figures, had 14 points in 29 minutes, 6-11 on 2's, 0-1 on 3's, 7 rebounds,
0 assists, 0 steals, 1 block, and 5 turnovers.
"Sidney is a guy with high athleticism," Barone said. "He has played at a higher level. It was nice to see what he is capable of in flashes."

Second game, lost to LSU 94-81 and SIUE won the second half 47-45:
Sid was scoreless in 19 minutes, 0-3 on 2's, 0-1 on 3's, with 4 rebounds, 0 assists and 4 turnovers.
Cam Thomas had 27 points for LSU in 33 minutes, 10-21 on 2's, 4-9 on 3's, 3-4 on FT's, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, 2 turnovers and 2 fouls. Might have made our lineup this year.

It was always frustrating to watch the inconsistency, imagine what it's like to live it? I hope he has a good season.

At least it appears his inconsistency has remained consistent with the new team.

14 and 7 is a nice opening game. I hope it clicks for him and he plays consistently well. Sid was here during the darkest days of the program. Nothing but good wishes for him.

On the other hand, 0 assists and 9 turnovers through two games captures his inconsistency pretty well.

Wish him well in Illinois, but he was not a good fit for Hurley.

Weird place to pitch his tent BUT if he's happy and he can be the BMOC, more power to him
Athletic ability is huge - game smarts - not so much
Hope he shines

Sidney is a talented player with unique athleticism. Things didn’t go as planned for him at UConn and that’s perfectly fine.

I’m happy he found another D1 program where he’s already established himself as the star player. It was probably
a difficult decision for him to make, and based on his recent stats at SIU, it turned out to be a wise one for his career. We’re proud of you, Sid!
