Who you got?

No flukes win here. Last three winners, Floyd, Pavin and Goosen were all top 5-15 players when they won.

Not the best in the world but absolutely could hold their own.

Course has been lengthened but being long wasn't any of their forte's.

Common theme is grit, guts, iron will and ability to work left to right, right to left, high and low. And, oh yeah, putting like a mo fo for the week.

All my picks are big names with big games. Won't need Google Sunday night to find out about winner.

Day, McIlroy, Fleetwood, Reed and Rose.

I have a Father's Day weekend all alone. Son is in Arizona with grandparents working for his grandpa, wife and daughter out of town for sports tournament.

I'll get in 18 on Saturday and Sunday morning and watch US Open all afternoon.

J DAY!

The only even lies are on the tee boxes. The course is ridiculous and the TV doesn't pick up most of the mounding and breaks on the greens.

I expect a thoroughbred leaderboard.

Tiger brought up his dinghy "Privacy" as his crash pad for the Open.

Tiger Woods could pay $1,085 a day to dock his 155-foot yacht during U.S. Open

I'll go three levels.
Favorite (less 50:1): Justin Rose
Mid tier (between 100:1 and 50:1): Patrick Cantlay

Rose seems to be the trendy pick right now.

Even Simpson. Driving the ball straight (or more appropriately, in the fairway) is a huge premium. Find an intersection of high fairways hit + top 30 OWGR + doesn't suck on monster greens and that's a good pick.

That's why I included Reed. Granted Augusta has huge room for error, but he was nails tough drilling fairways on the back 9 while there were roars in front of him.

I like DJ. He’ll fix his issues from last week where he lapped the field anyway. He’s already proven he can win an open, and he’s just better than the rest now.

History is against him since I believe no one has won the US Open after winning the week before. Of course that doesn’t really matter and it will happen eventually... He is the favorite right now.

Barn Rat has the game, not sure he has the mental portion to ready him for this stage. But I think he will win one one day.

A few years ago my course hosted
a first round US Open qualifier .
A young guy we knew played in it and a close friend carried his bag.
The kid was very long but the big difference between him an even the lesser pros that made up the field ,was the the noticeable difference in the short game. He was paired with a Mexican pro who didn’t miss a putt inside 10 ft. and shot 66 . Our friend shot a 73 and didn’t make the cut. He went head to head for most of the round but tightened up late.
The guy who finished 1st still has the course record, 62 .He was an unknown Australian pro who never qualified apparently he flamed out at the next step. I m not sure any of the top guys actually made the final field. That’s how tough it is just to get in.
Our record holder did lead the Aussie Open after 54 holes a few years later ,only to loose on Sunday.
