Good football and basketball. Their club baseballs team was ranked, gymnastics ranked, pretty good all around. Only problem is media market. I imagine Boise isn't a huge one?I'm still surprised Boise isn't even in the conversation.

I can't see why the Big12 would want/need another Texas school but the PAC might (though I think that's a bit of a long shot as well seeing that they're a religious institution and the PAC schools are almost all state schools).SMU is a sneaky way to rule 1.
Part of the PAC being helpless, and the Big12 being hopeful, is geography. A break in that dam doesn’t bode well for us.
There is nothing to learn here. SDSU’s exit fee increases over time where ours diminishes…exact opposite dynamics. In some respects the current dynamics between SDSU and the Mountain West Conference are a cautionary tale for UConn. The Big East is likely to play hardball with UConn if UConn gives a notice of withdrawal from the conference.

Did Charlie Brown learnI would hope we would have a landing spot already secured before submitting a withdrawal notice.
Yup, after they extract their pound of flesh, the MWC will let them come back. The Mountain West is posturing.. in the end though SDSU is one of the most valuable properties in the MWC. They don't have a viable replacement even close to that value, so if SDSU really had no other offer, MWC is going to accept them back, maybe forcing some sort of concession from SDSU, but they'll happily keep them.
The Huskies have been burned in the past (XII no expansion after schools gave their presentations). UConn won't give formal notice of withdrawal until the Athletic Department has a formal invitation to join another conference in hand. Very nuanced. I like it.Interesting take
The East Village Times article above nails it but the dance is fun to watch (in an Seinfeld’s Elaine type of way):
