Loved Homer Jones in the 60s. Pairing with Fran Tarkenton was a ray of sunshine on a team that got old after the successes of 61, 62, & 63. One of the few great moves of those years was the trade to Cleveland of Jones for Ron Johnson.

Loved Homer Jones!

Heard the story were Giants QB (Tarkington?) would call a pass play in the huddle, Z6 Split Left, and then on his hand go over to Homer and “draw” Homer go 20 yards fly and hook right.

Needless to say it was a TD pass.

Former Giants great wide receiver Homer Jones passed away a couple of weeks ago.

What a group of receivers they had. RIP Homer.
Homer Jones, Henry Carr and Del Shofner. And Jones and Carr were big receivers for the time. Like TE size with wide receiver speed. Every play had a shot to go all the way.
