This is very sad news. Alan Parker was the film director who really got me interested in the art of filmmaking (and I considered film school not law school). So many brilliant and often overlooked movies. Midnight Express, Birdy, Angel Heart, Mississippi Burning, Fame, Bugsy Malone, The Commitments, The Wall... RIP to a real film legend.
