Is it possible to be both mellow and relentlessly positive? Louis Armstrong says yes...

(What a wonderful world)
Of course it's possible! This is one of my absolute favorites from Earth Wind and Fire:

This is a song I hated when I was younger. But a lightbulb just went off in my head 10-15 years ago. It's just so damn happy, and the Beach Boys had the best ensemble vocals ever.

Here are another song that always make me smile. It's only three years older than I am. ;)

Life's a dance, you learn as you go.
Sometimes you lead, sometimes you follow.
Don't worry 'bout what you don't know,
Life's a dance, you learn as you go.

Thanks for the Jackie.

I'll see your "Stand!" and raise you a "Stomp!" The heat is on and the funk just won't leave us alone.

Don't it feel alright!

Has there ever been a better version of Lonely Teardrops?

Wives may come and go, but a great song lasts forever.
Yeah well, Eric was a jerk and a butt hat about it, and it almost cost him his life. But he ultimatley won and got a great album out of it.

For my money, the greatest pop singer of the R&R era. He could sing anything at a high level from standards to R&B to light opera with a legitimate four octave range. Then there was his stage act which every person who has ever played with a microphone stand stole from, not to mention the physical part stolen by James Brown. A man whose life story is far more interesting than any performer you can think of. Perhaps, along with Sam Cooke, their movies will be made.
