All of the games are on Youtube streamed for free. Gonna be amazing experience for these guys and help prepare them for what's in Storrs.

Australia: Plenty of good competition with them playing in the group phase with France and USA. Some real talent on the team. A few D1 players, Dash Daniels who is playing NBL and may go first round in the draft next year. Team probably isn't going to have a great record (and will be crushed by USA), but it should be fun to see him against the guys we want him to be dominating this November.

6/28 @ 11:15vs USA
6/29 @ 1:30 vs Cameroon
7/1 @ 11:15 vs France

Germany: Christian Anderson from Texas Tech will probably be leading the team. Kid playing for UW, some other D1 guys and a bunch of guys playing in vairous European pro leagues. Reibe is going to have to EARN his playing time here for sure. Reibe needs to prove himself to me now...he's been hit or miss and way too soft over the past couple years. I need to see him play tough and aggressive to have faith he can be the backup 5 we need.

6/28 @ 8:30 vs Slovenia
6/29 @ 5:45 vs China
7/1 @ 8:30 vs Canada

Figured I'd start a thread for anyone watching games or highlights here.

Reibe is the only true center on his roster, feels like he’s guaranteed a big role.

Yeah he should have a good role, but their PF Hannes Steinbach filled in for Reibe at the U-18 Eurobasket last summer and they won the tournament. But this event does have some taller dudes, 8 other 7-footers, only 1 of whom is European. Steinbach is more like 6'9".

Our boy lasted three minutes before committing two personals and hitting the bench. No points, no rebounds, twice beaten on defense. His replacement was ten seconds into the game before scoring on a slam dunk. Just the sort of start you want if you're looking for obvious areas for improvement. (smile)

Not a great start for Reibe.
Big thing he's going to have to work on is help positioning. Something I noticed going back to high school. He's always worried about his matchup in the post and often doesn't get in help-side position. Leads to fouls (he picked up 2 in like 3 minutes) and opponent getting layups he doesn't get to.

He'll have to increase his foot quickness in order to get better at help defense and defense overall.

More mental than footspeed, to me. Some strength too as he can't push his defender out from screening him with a post up.

Just came back in after the foul trouble and got a quick oreb and putback.

Haven’t watched much but Reibe 4 points at half. 2/2 on 2s, 0/1 on 3s, only 1 REB.
He did nothing but maybe tip a rebound in his first several minute stretch, but got 2 fouls and sat for the next quarter or so. Next stretch was better. Offensive rebound and nice use the basket reverse lay-in. Then caught a pass outside the paint and power dribbled into his defender for a nice soft floater. Then took a bad "I haven't shot yet) contested 3 he missed badly.

Just picked up a bad 3rd foul right to start the 2nd. Probably bad call (defender jumped into him and landed on Reibe like 2 seconds after shooting a floater).

I think it's both mental and foot speed. Mental in that his aggressiveness has to dial up quite a bit.

Much better 3rd quarter after that questionable foul. Just had a nice 2-dribble drive, missed the lay in... but got the o-board and finished. Had another rebound in there somewhere as well. Contesting a TON of shots in the scrum for boards especially.

Declan Duru is pretty nice.

Lol Reibe with the drive against his defender. Got fouled, no call, then did a crazy spin move for the wide open layup... that he missed lol.

He had a nice baseline spin move from the mid-post earlier that he was fouled before the shot on... not sure a perimeter drive with a spin is quite in the wheelhouse yet. Also, why? You're huge kid, act like it.

This UW commit has 15 PTS and 17 REB with a couple minutes to go. Wow

Unfortunately Reibe didn't get to finish the game with other guys playing well. Ended up with 6/5/0 in 13 minutes. 3/5 from 2, 0/2 from 3 with 1 TO. No steals, and should've been credited with a block.

Nice comeback win for Germany.
