My favorite post from the Cuse board on Laray:

"I understand how Carter might be interested in Rutgers because they claim they'll let him play rb. But how could Laray ever in a million years want to play in Uconn's offense? They were 112th in the country last year in offense and made no legitimate changes in the offseason. Oh yeah, and they don't have a conference!!!!!!!!!! Who is advising these kids?"

If hiring a very well respected offensive coordinator to replace GDL doesn't count as a legitimate change, I'm very interested to hear what would count as legitimate.

The funny thing about this stupid comment is that we spanked Syracuse for years and because they crushed us for 1 year they think there Oregon... Lol

im not sold yet. that could be old news from scout just not updating his profile. i need proof he is coming here this weekend and not getting on a plane.

indidan has 5 lb commits in there class and 1 rb commit. they have room slots wise. 1 of those lbs is a good hs rb from fl. i would be suprised if he doesn't get some rb chances.

we need to win this fight

cuse btw flipped batten from kst. i asumed he had grade/qualify issues as to why he picked the mac over 4 bcs offers, then cuse cam along and offered. sound slike his bcs offers were pulled as slots were filled and then he got hung out until cuse came along. cuse is on a mad dash to fill slots. they are also in a battle with miami for gus. now is the time to strike. cuse fans are happy with batten, hes a good prospect but nothing special compared to what we got. talk about the haul at TE from a footprint standpoint, we killed it!!!

Well if you're looking at it from a historical perspective, we can also throw Fordham, Yale, Harvard, and Princeton up there. That ancient history doesn't change the fact that Syracuse is no closer to currently being an elite football program than UConn is.

Whenever I read their board, I get the feeling that half of them just sit around lusting after a picture of Ernie Davis, while whispering to themselves that they're still a respected football power.

Some of these kids make me scratch my head, highly touted RB Daryl Chestnut just committed to Western Michigan, had previously committed to texas Tech and WVU was heavy on him.

They probably showed him the tape of our game and that sealed the deal.

Actually he probably was smart enough to realize he could be a star at WMU instead of maybe seeing the field at the other schools.

Kinda like Lagow.

Strange - he was one of the names being bantered about for the reason WVA pulled Zaire Williams offer.

I don't think he's visiting UConn - I think he's going to Indiana this weekend.

Between track and whatever else, I don't think we've got a great shot here.

Yeah, not good. Especially since it was reported by several publications that Smith was visiting UCONN this weekend. I think we miss out on him.

If he wants to pursue both Track and football how can he choose any school in his top 3 over Uconn? The track program is top notch one of the best in the country. The football program is an up and coming program he can help get to the next level, and we have had many past football players do both most notably Kashif Moore. Come on Laray!

Yup... Two key comments:

"He’s also hoping to gain the attention of Florida and Oregon in the next few months, schools where he’d like to play both sports."

"The picture could become clearer — or murkier — when he runs the indoor nationals March 8-10 at the Armory in Manhattan. A good performance there could attract more college scholarship offers in track, giving Smith, already confused, even more options to mull"
