Stephon Castle is a STUD. Tonight he showcased everything that makes him a top 10 pick.

-Locking down Devin Carter
-Animal in the paint, great at drawing contact
-His 3 point shot isn’t nearly as big of a deal as it maybe seemed early on. It’s just in game reps.

That was an abomination. Naismith is screaming in horror somewhere. When there are this many fouls it means some of those guys should have fouled out at the 12 minute mark. Which would have calmed things a bit. Again, BE refs lose control.

Had Cam hit a few shots this is an easy win despite the ugliness. Hope he shakes it off.

That was brutal, but this team finds a way to grit it out. Can’t remember a game that was more difficult to watch.
One thing that stood out to me is Castle. We are starting too see a star emerging. It was a bad decision on the last foul but his defense and overall game you can see translates to the next level.

Who were the posters who wanted Big East refs to call more fouls? Yikes.

Just glad the refs didn't let PC get away with the way they always play UConn. 29 fouls called on them. That's an insane amount.

Perfect outcome going into a tough road game this weekend. A lot to correct and a W. They can't all be 40 point blowouts. These are the games that people used to cry and complain about losing - now they cry and complain about winning them. Progress.

Perhaps not his best performance, but we now move to 34-4 in games reffed by Gaffney since 2013.

Man I swear my body temperature feels 100 degrees, I’m exhausted just from watching that.

You have to win ugly sometimes. You will have games and you could have one of those in March ya never know ie Butler 2011.

  • Refs absolutely bailed us out on Oduro's third foul. Really favorable whistle in the first half, I'd be upset if I was a Providence fan

Okay. Carter had Castle's arm locked to his hip on Castle's 5th foul. Call it even. Newton pinned that Carter layup they called on Tristen. Now you go - we can go back and forth like this all night in a game where 50 fouls are called.

Ed Cooley might be gone but this feels like the same team defensively. Grabbing, tons of contact, mucking everything up, and just daring the refs to call all the fouls. CFJ in particular had a handful of jersey through literally every screen. I don't know how PC fans can watch a full season of this.

In hindsight, Coach needed to find a few minutes for Singare and a few more for Stewart when it clearly was going to be a war of attrition.

It was tiring to hear the announcers say how good the officiating was lol. The game ran 40 or so min too long and was one of the worst called games I’ve witnessed in decades. Both teams played hard and got whistled almost every possession.

New Mexico game on right now had 4 min to go in first half when UConn game ended, just so bad.

Best part of the game was that little financial advisor in a Providence jersey getting some run at the end.

Good W and onto the next one
