Show like? First 48, Cops or shows like TJ Hooker or SWAT?Why are crooks such bad shots in tv shows? They fire a bunch of rounds and don't hit anything and then the sheriff fires 1 time and boom..bad guy dead? Thoughts?
They show a video at most academies involving a real time shootout in which over a hundred rounds were fired between the police and suspect. As I recall no one was ever hit but they tore up a couple of vehicles. Why are crooks such bad shots in tv shows? It's economics. The country that can make the most bullets wins.I was told in a college course that in WWII there were about 200 rounds of rifle fire for every rifle bullet casualty.
On TV it's economics too. Stars, aka good guys, are more expensive than casting call bad guys. Really everything is economics! It's economics. The country that can make the most bullets wins.
Now that's trivia I can use!not quite a police show but Gunsmoke lasted 20 years and 600+ episodes and Marshall Dillion was shot 56 times.....maybe that is why it lasted so long
Worse than that, every TV bad guy takes the time to explain to his potential victim why he is going to shoot them. Of course, before he is finished explaining, he is distracted , and the good guy gets away. Just like in real life. Why are crooks such bad shots in tv shows? Alydar, not sure what cities you were in but I can never recall a response time over five minutes, even in heavy traffic.
