We're less than 2 weeks into the season and look at all the losses for the preseason top 12
1 LSU - lost to #20 Colorado by double digits
2 UConn - preseason lost to unranked NC State by double digits
3 Iowa - lost to unranked Kansas State at home
4 UCLA - nearly lost to unranked Princeton
5 Utah - lost to #19 Baylor
6 South Carolina - they've been good
7 Ohio State - lost to #21 USC
8 Virginia Tech - lost to #3 Iowa
9 Indiana - lost by 32 to #15 Stanford
10 Notre Dame - lost by 29 to #6 South Carolina
11 Tennessee - lost to #18 Florida State
12 Ole Miss - lost to unranked Oklahoma by double digits

Only South Carolina and UCLA have come out unscathed early in the year, though even UCLA looks far from being a top 5 team IMO. Should be a fun season ahead.

It's going to be an exciting, and at times tense, season. My goodness! What chaos and we're not even two full weeks into the season.

The Thanksgiving holiday provides some intriguing matchups in the holiday tournaments. #5 Colorado vs. #14 NC State shaping up to be a doozy.

Maybe. Flip the officiating crews in the semis and championship game and we’re having a much different conversation about the early season.

UCLA vs UConn will be pretty telling.

I hope the impossible to kill FloHoops subscription is still going for me.

Coach Close said it best yesterday, and we all know this as well, this parity is great for the growth of the game. It is only going to get better.

UR Duke, after losing at home to Davidson, goes to #6 Stanford and takes them to overtime before losing by 3.

#8 UConn only led UR Minnesota by 3 at the half and wins by single digits.

#14 NC State was down by 2 after three quarters at home to UR RI but rallies to win by 9.

#20 Maryland escapes UR Syracuse at home by 2.

#21 Baylor at home was only up by 2 at the half but pulls out a 10-point win over a tough UR Harvard squad.

#22 Creighton wins on the road at UR Nebraska by 5.

UR Arizona up by 6 at the half falls to #23 Ole Miss by 9.

S.Fla escapes (1 - 4) N. Fla by a single point.

Florida Gulf Coast takes care of Kentucky by double digits.

Miss. State hangs on at Belmont for a 1-point win.

South Dakota beats DePaul by 12 and then loses to Michigan by 18. Michigan beats Middle Tenn. by 14 and then Middle Tenn. is currently beating DePaul by 14 at the half. Conclusion: Michigan is pretty good and DePaul is pretty bad.

But the single most shocking result so far this season has to be Oregon losing at home to Santa Clara by 39!!!!

Come tournament time whether you get in or not - and what seeding you get - will probably be determined by the smallest of margins. Many of these early season non-conference games may figure largely in determining that difference.

Oregon is not that good this year. To many people evaluate teams on their last years showing.

It seems like a year of scoring guards and that can lead to chaos.

Not sure the interior size, depth, and talent is what it's been. Have to keep an eye on that.

I was watching that game. Casual Oregon Ducks fan here. Santa Clara was on FIRE!! They just could not miss, especially from deep. 16 three pointers made. The Ducks could not make shots. I think was the worst loss for Coach Graves since they lost to UConn back in 2017-18 range.

It should be noted that while Duke lost to Davidson earlier in the week, they forced Stanford to OT on Stanford's home court. That's an impressive bounce back considering the roster they were facing and that this is a very young team.

Not sure if I ever mentioned it, but you are probably my favorite Canadian poster on the BY.

Another example of that parity in Columbia tonight as the Gamecocks played without our top two shooters against a perennial tournament team and fell into an 11-10 hole.

Wound up winning by 40 despite going 0-12 from 3. Defense has improved immensely after giving up 70+ their first two games. 15 steals and 16 blocks tonight for South Carolina.

Maryland puts up 31 points in the first quarter - and then scores 36 for the remaining three quarters, blowing an 11-point lead at the end of the first quarter to lose by 20 to #23 Washington State in Cancun.

UR Princeton pulls the upset over #22 Oklahoma winning by 14 in Fort Myers Fl.

#21 Indiana defeats #19 Tennessee also by 14 and also in Fort Myers Fl.
