There’s never an absolute- there are 3 teams on this list that won’t make it to the Elite 8

I watched UCLA last week and they play like a hard nosed Big East team. They have a volume scorer and lockdown defender.

uconn is the reason they have to keep stretching this stat. our #19 offense in 2011 was the worst winner at the time and then in 2014 we were #39. the only other winner without a top 10 offense was syracuse in 2003.

And the general misnomer on this stat is that you get a pretty big boost by winning 6 games against top tier competition so you can not qualify on selection Sunday and rise into the qualification after the fact as a self selecting bias. That said there is a similar stat about pre tourney rankings and we fit that criteria too.

The real question is have we done enough to counter the don’t guard Dre defense and right now that’s gone from a 0% to a 50% to something north of that now (75?%).

We’ve seen a resurgence of our bench - specifically Alleyne and now for at least 1 game Donovan.

I think we’re far closer to “as good a shot as anyone” than we are to the lost team of January.

Providence at home will tell us a lot.

We have to get advantageous matchups to win the natty. Run into a gifted guard team like Creighton and expect an ugly rock fight.

Remember how much fun it was when our guard’s dominated?

Play well at both ends and this team can beat anyone, already has. Problem is we do dumb things at both ends as soon as someone takes away our first option.

If we combine that stat with the stat that every natl champion since 2004 has been ranked in the top 12 of the AP mens poll in week 6 we are down to Houston, Bama, Kansas and UConn.

That’s +3000 cut off in that graphic right?

I wouldn’t bet on us thanks to Hurley
Ohhhh! I thought we were +300 and I was thinking to myself “these guys favorites to win the national championship?”

And if we take into account that 1/2 of the National Champions between 2011 & 2014 had Tyler Olander, almost no one has a chance. This one's gonna be wild
