I personally have a rankings list of all of our recruits every year, so I figured it'd be good to have a place where everyone can see all of the visits. (height/weight/ranking may not be fully up to date. I haven't gone through and updated since I did a month or so ago) (also: positions listed is between PG, G, W, F, C. I feel it's best way to describe)

Darius Carr, Guard, 6'3 190 (CA) 107 - Visit: June 13
Jayden Ross, Wing, 6'7 180 (MD) 128 - Visit: June 14-15
Taison Chatman, Guard, 6.3 170 (MN) 46 - Visit: June 19-20
Scotty Middleton, Wing, 6'7 180 (KS/NJ) 19 - Visit: June 21-23
Solomon Ball, Guard, 6'3 185 (MD) 264 - Visit: June 24-26
Chris Johnson, Guard, 6'5 180 (TX) 28 - Visit: Expected- summer
Andrej Stojakovic, Wing, 6'7 185 (CA) 82 - Visit: Expected- fall

Kids ranked above 100 should visit some where else. At UCONN above 100 players will be practice players only.

rankings don’t mean everything. a 3 star can very much help uconn if they develop well, they aren’t brought here to contribute right away unless they are good enough.

Do unofficial visits belong in this thread?

2023 center JP Estrella - Unofficial next week

I didn’t include unofficial visits because that’s a lot longer of a list and doesn’t carry as much weight imo. For example, Miranda has been on campus 4 (?) times now but it’s seems we’re out on him. OV shows true potential commitments, for me at least

@HooperScooper thanks for the 2010 rankings list for a trip down memory lane. The year of the Lambs, Doron, Tyler, and Jeremy. One of the best games I've ever seen was the war between Findlay Prep & St Patricks (I think) with Corey Joseph & Tristan Thompson against Kyrie Irving & another big that must have been a jr. Also I watched Doron Lamb (a point guard) hold 260lb center Jarod Sullinger to 1 single point as the primary defender for Oak Hill when I was watching Roscoe Smith. Really educational what a quicker player can do to front a dominate big and deprive him of getting the ball in scoring position. A defensive game up there with Lyman Depriest's second half game shutting down the BC guard & (was it Shaq he also held his own?)

I really wasn't expecting that the staff could add another proven player in the backcourt that was used to playing minutes, especially when the player isn't looking to the future because of only 1 yr eligibility. Joey must want a ring more than a lot of playing time :). A ton of credit to the staff for assembling this team from the smoldering wreck of April. It looks like we have a better team and deeper team on paper than I ever thought was realistic. I even think the walk-ons are solid. Now the staff has to meet the challenge to get the most from the team on the court. It won't be easy given how loaded other teams are as well.

Players who live within driving distance of Storrs may not want to burn an OV. It doesn't make the UV any less important.

Just my 2¢.

Then maybe all that practice paid off for Polley and Whaley?!

But if they're a top priority they still almost always end up taking an official visit at some point. Even Clingan who was on campus for every game and like 15 other times ended up taking an official right before he committed

I agree. But I’m curious what events a recruit can / can’t participate in during an unofficial vs official visit.

Besides a free steak dinner and hotel room for a night, are there other things that happen during an OV that are out of bounds during an unofficial?

Travel expenses such as airfare come immediately to mind.
