Reply to the Superconference post by Billy Budd:

This is the reason the SEC did that (adding independent South Carolina and Southwest Conference member Arkansas to get to 12 schools). There was that NCAA rule that 12 member conferences (who could not have a round robin play them all) were allowed to break into two divisions and have a conference championship game. Only Div. 1-AA (FCS) had done that but now a Div. 1-A (FBS) league would do this. The SEC smelled $$$. The Big 12, the Pac12, the ACC, and the Big 10 all followed suit.

PS: I guess the NCAA will now have to call FBS the FCPS or something like that.

That report is nonsense on its face. Oregon State and Washington State are "P5" schools and likely will run off with a lot of Pac12 $$$ soon. They can then offer the ACC or Big 12 the same deal that SMU did and will be admitted into one of them.

Are the schools relocating to Texas? If not, they don't bring 11M households with them.

And GT.

Oh and SMU, Cal and Stanford!!!!

Good catch. GT has been listed so often as part of the B1G grabs I wasn't even thinking of them as a leftover.

I'll be shocked if GT doesn't get picked up by the B1G. One of The U or FSU, GT and one or both of UVA and UNC makes perfect sense for the B1G.

Honest question: Why?
What do they bring to the table?

I will grant that the B10 needs access to more southern recruiting markets, but that's about it wrt GT.

whats his credibility?

And didnt someone tweet something similar a month or so ago?

"Teams will leave the ACC (maybe in 2023)" isn't the biggest thunderbolt. I could tweet the same with confidence.
Question if he has some good sources.

It's going to be a real question of whether or not we want to join with the remainders. Someday they will split football and basketball conferences

They don't need GT to get access to a hotbed that they already have access to.

If the B1G is taking GT then they are probably taking a ton of schools because there is a list of schools ahead of them.

He had UConn to the Big 12 in the summer. If you call him out, he blocks you. He is a fraud.
