Nice article by Dave Borges: http://www.nhregister.com/sports/20130907/nine-huskies-from-2010-team-thriving-in-minor-leagues

>>A quick scan down the 2010 UConn baseball team’s roster reveals no fewer than nine players who would eventually be Major League Baseball draft picks. All nine are still playing professionally, and most are having a great deal of success at the minor-league level, led by George Springer. In fact, five players — Springer, Matt Barnes, John Andreoli, Nick Ahmed and Kevin Vance — are currently involved in their respective postseasons.<<

That team had the misfortune of facing South Carolina (who did not lose one game that postseason) in the super regionals. A slightly better draw and we would have ended up as one of the final five or six teams standing that season.

USCe fans spoke highly of us for quite some time after that season ended.

Springer's catch was ridiculous to keep us in Game 2. One of the clutchest web gems I've ever seen (bases loaded, two-out, down 3-2 in 8th).

Wish Barnes threw a little better - SC hit him pretty good second time through the order.

You are actually confusing your seasons. 2011 is when we had the misfortune of facing South Carolina in the Super Regionals. The 2010 team that the article references is actually the team that choked under the preasure of the post season. Despite all of that talent, and the fact that we were hosting the regionals in Norwich, we managed to only beat Central Connecticut in the NCAAs and lost twice to Oregon on our home soil. That could have been an absolutely magical season...but we kind of choked under the pressure that year. Still frustrates me to this day in terms of what could have been that season!
