There’s talk on Twitter about UConn and WVU going to the ACC or UConn to the Pac12 but take that with a grain of salt. Some of the people on Twitter say they’ve been visited by aliens from outer space.

i'm no expert but i'd say no way the ACC happens as long as BC is still there.

how about just severing 'major' college football from ncaa/collegiate affiliation. then they can set up their own corporations to grab the loot and leave the poor collegians to their studies and the schools' administrations to 'honest' fundraising

a suggestion

This is good for UConn if the goal is to ever get into a P5 conference. In terms of revenue, you’d need to be in the SEC or Big 10.. schools in that league are about to make close to $100 million a year in revenue for ATHLETICS when the new media deals are renegotiated. There are already rumors of pressure on UNC to breach that 2035 contract and bolt for either the Big 10 or SEC. ACC is ripe for poaching.

I’m not sure you guys have a shot at the Big Ten… but you guys should definitely be angling for the ACC or the Big 12. Both leagues will be looking for members very soon.

SEC And BIG may choose to sever themselves from the NCAA. SEC has had serious discussions about it and if the BIG joined them, it could see it happening fast.

You can't spell secession with out an "S", and "E" and a "C."

You cannot spell housecleaning without s, e, c.

tB1G and the SEC are cleaning house for the NCAA, before they secede.

UCLA and USC to the Big 10. Huge increase in travel times and jet lag for these mostly teenage athletes. But I'm sure no one who makes money off of them cares.

Football drives the bus everywhere except to Storrs.
But walk over to any campus playing site and see where titles get dreamed of…a lot. Hockey. Soccer. Field Hockey. Baseball. And others.

Plus we are The Basketball Capitol of the World.

Even without any near-term expectation of football respectability, competency, blah, blah, ad nauseum…Connecticut is always on the radar for MCM. As in Mega-Conference Money.

The phones are ringing coast to coast about MCM non-stop. And someday we’ll get the call…cuz folks know about Husky Nation. Football ? Every big butt football league has its cellar dwelling perennial loser. Might not bother us at all to assume the position… for at least a few more seasons, or decades, or the length of any of our natural lives.

Do we do it ? Would a tenth of a billion dollars each year be helpful ?

MBB has a ways to go before it returns to real relevance. Football the nation's worst BCS program.

They're getting paid for it (finally),

Just praying that when the musical chairs eventually stop, UCONN has a seat at one of the major tables.
USC and UCLA were "unanimously" accepted into the BIG 10 yesterday by the Conference Board of Governors effective 2024. The PAC-12 conference will never be the same. The timing and logistics are all wrong for UConn to seriously consider joining the PAC-12 at this time. The ACC is their best bet if by some "miracle" they can get an invite. I think most of us are in agreement that the ACC is where UConn belongs. ;)

The SEC and BiG10 are going to be the P2, with everyone else a step below. Has to be a bitter pill for the ACC and PAC12. The money for the P2 is going to be so big that it may overwhelm the ACC's GOR poison pill for Clemson and/or FSU.

$100M sounds like a pile of money. But $10M goes to the head coach and another $10M for the coaching staff. I'd like to see what these schools spend on football. I'd guess that vast bulk of that $100M goes eventually into the pockets of private businesses and on home game Saturdays a lot of cash gets pumped into the local economy.
But the real problem is that schools will become dependent on that media revenue and will be pressured by the media to change the game in exchange for increased revenue. Or threatened with less revenue if they don't. Money still corrupts.
