I don't follow the WNBA in any form or fashion but I think it would be great for someone like her to be a first round pick. It would help to open a path, or at least provide encouragement, for players like her with all the attributes the article mentions. Provide some hope for players other than those that ESPN goes on and on and on about because they fit a certain narrative. Or that the WNBA or other leagues draft because they sell tickets. I think this applies to Dorka Juhasz also, although I think with her size she would be more of an attraction for teams. I imagine Lopez-Senechal has already been an encouragement for quite a few mid major players, whether it's noticed or written about or not.
