We were recruiting him, but staff prioritized Bouknight and signed Bouk. Quinones eventually cut us from his list as he trimmed down (and we were not as likely to sign him as Bouk so it was a smart move by staff). Chief infamously predicted UConn would sign Quinones, so I think he's trying to save face in some way this this talk of "under the radar" recruitment.
