That's unfortunate. He had a few solid seasons. Most notably the covid year when they were ranked #23, 10-8 in Big East, 22-9 on the season.

Hopefully they've already got their guy. If not, their AD is an idiot for waiting so long.

Edit: Apparently his buyout significantly lowered today. Still, it feels like they'll end up with some random P5 assistant.

Definitely see the argument that can be made on both sides here, but the timing of this is just absolutely horrible. Now both Butler and Jordan/staff are behind, but $$$ is always gonna be the biggest factor

Pacers assistant Ronald Nored is a Butler alum. 32 years old and has previous G league HC experience. He should get a look.
They just fired an alum, if I’m them, I’m not hiring another alum unless it’s a slam dunk hire. Butler plays in a big conference, really think they should target a coach with head coaching experience. Nored would be a major risk. Curious to see who they get.

Given how far Hurley's stock has fallen, does UConn have a shot at replacing him with Jordan here?

Who cares about them? All I care about is if Lukosias is entering the portal!
I thought Big East didn't allow intra-conference transfers? Or have they changed the stance on that?

They had to create opportunities for all the Georgetown kids every year.
Could only do so many years of the Ewing recruiting tree dominating college bball without waking up

The day after Shaheen Holloway - beloved Seton Hall icon/alum - takes a "dream" job; Butler fires Jordan in a somewhat controversial way. On the day of his decrease in buyout. This has aspects of the Kevin Ollie trips around the sun. (let's not turn that into 4 more pages on this thread). And Patrick Ewing.

My idiosyncratic push on these days/months to our 2022-2023 Team ... it is NOW about Luke Murray - Tom Moore - Kimani Young "components" on Hurley coaching. It is a Program. Getting into the Transfer Portal is about Hurley; but also three guys with extensive collaborative networking relationships. Its fine you guys jumping up & down on who is in the latest list of the possible gets. To me, commitments will come because of existing longer relationships our 4 coaches (and maybe Taliek and other tied UCONN connections) have to the type of talent available. WE have a significant comparative advantage - IMHO - in this aspect.

May be the first thing in half a decade that he’s said & I agree with

I was expecting to see a substantial buyout decrease by Butler waiting until today. Decreased from $750K to $650K. I guess money is money though

$100k is not substantial enough that you wouldn't have waited the two weeks if you were in Butler's shoes?
