They were sitting under the basket closest to the UConn bench in VIP row. A few WNBA coaches sitting in that area also, no doubt doing a little "recon" to see which one of the seniors (Kia, Gabby or Jordan) they want to draft first. Donovan McNabb and his wife were there also.

When I saw Kobe at the game, I just assumed that he must be there rooting for UCLA, considering he was a Laker for his entire professional career. But the picture with Geno got me thinking. Kobe is a Philly native. He and Geno probably go way back. Kobe was probably at the game to root for his buddy from the hood.

Actually there is more to it. Geno was born in Italy. His family moved to Philly when he was 7. Kobe was born in Philly. His family moved to Italy when he was 6. Both speak Italian.
