Not talked about enough. Another absurd 14 rebound performance on the defensive boards. The best defensive rebounding guard/wing to ever put on a UConn uniform?

He’s like UConn’s Ben Simmons light. But he’s got to play a tighter game with ball and passes.
Very light Simmons. Simmons can score. Besides entry passing, clear path dunks and pushing pace a little Jackson doesn’t give us much on offense. But man is he good at grabbing rebounds.

His line was kind of wild today. 2/3 for 5 points, 16 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 block and 5 turnovers
Odd stat lines is the norm for Jackson. He’s just like a freak athlete that we kind of throw out there and roll the dice with. He was draining NBA 3s against Butler. It’s like a surprise with him you know what you’re going to get, aside from a bunch of defensive boards.

Hes also a deadzone on offense. How many times does he have a chance to go to the basket for two and possibly a foul and he makes a wild pass which gets turned over or gets to the open guy only to miss the shot or not be ready for the pass. He has absolutley no touch around the basket.

Instead of going in for a layup he’ll release a floater 4 ft out.

Has has to look to the hoop. With his passing. Dribbling and athleticism. How does he only get 3 shots?

He has to attack the basket more and get more shots up.

he is unable to create enough space to release his shot. He has to be square and needs time to set. The defense gives him enough space to prevent the drive, but they can close out before he can shoot because of his shooting mechanics. He does not have an off the dribble move, and no step back, both are nearly impossible due to his technique. This should have been fixed a long time ago.

Great rebounder for his size no doubt. His inability to understand he needs to slow down at times after almost 2 years is scary. Also yesterday 2 times it was incredible he didn’t go to the hole when receiving passes. On the left side first half he got a pass and had the baseline all to himself as the defender was overplaying his right, he threw it back out. 2nd half 8 ft from the hoop left side he elected to never turn and look at the basket for a dunk or lay in but instead threw it to RJ in the deep corner. He needs to go to the basket to be an impact on offense and try to dunk everything not those throws. Also that runner (throw) needs dramatic improvement for him to be “great” like many of you say.

His rebounding is really good, his 3 point shooting is better and there’s such a ceiling but many things have to get better especially taking care of the ball.

Hopefully you are not complimenting him on his passing. Yesterday's game he had to have three turnovers passing the ball. It seems that he and Sonogo just can't get it right. His pass is either high or at Sonogo's feet. He a more than a couple turnovers.

Agreed. I remember that play and start screaming at the TV. Easiest 2 pointer I ever saw.

In person close to the court, he stands out physically vs all the rest. Hangs in the air for rebounds and fastest up the court. But don’t think his offense will ever get significantly better. Very, very gradual steps from here.

He is a terrific passer and vision. He didn’t execute on Sunday. Most of it is because he tries to be too quick. Just needs to learn ball control and patience.

He’s easily the best passer in the team though. Probably the only one on the team where passing is a real strength.

He’s the best passer and the worst passer all in one. Problem is he has good vision but never throws the normal pass often enough instead prefers to look pretty too often cutting the mustard, which he’s not very good at. He can be a terrific passer but needs to just play and finish his passes.

He’s fun to watch except when he shoots which is kind of a big exception. He sure could’ve been an amazing high jumper.

Pre-season I said he would have a successful year if we could get 8/5/3 out of him on decent percentages and defense... currently he's rolling in at 7.0/7.6/2.7 on decent percentages and excellent defense. I think it's fair to say the season is a success. We couldn't expect the kid to totally revamp his game over the course of the one summer. He's cut down on his fouls a ton and learned how to shoot a basic catch and shoot 3... that is the product of a VERY successful summer.

Sometimes it's hard to forget how much he helps the team on defense, pushing the ball, playing faster, etc just because some of his TOs are so mind-numbingly bad. And the inability to score AT ALL. And that god-awful floater... it can be really frustrating, but these are reps that Andre needs to flourish as a player.

Junior jackson cutting his TOs by a 1/3 is an even better player. Junior jackson that cut his TOs by 1/3 and learns how to make 2 layups a game is a BEAST.

Great rebounder for sure. I really am perplexed by his willingness to mix it up on the defensive boards, while being unwilling to take a foul on the offensive end. His endless floaters, teardrops and tips, but he won't dunk or try a layup unless it is uncontested. What was his injury freshman year? He should spend his time in the gym finishing through contact. He would be unstoppable.

He probably helped to give us an extra 5-6 points yesterday just from his rebounding effort, which led to so many extra possessions. Having a guy like that is so huge on those days when we are shooting at a low percentage, which happens all too often. I get frustrated with the fastballs he throws to Sanogo and the 5 foot floaters that hardly ever fall. Still hard for me to complain when I see Jackson pulling down double digit rebounds so many times. Any talk of giving him less minutes is just silly.

John Wooden be quick but don't hurry, always remembered that phrase from years ago. Wild boxscore from AJ does so much for us just needs to cut down the turnovers and make better decisions with the ball and somehow, someway get aggressive around the basket. Hard to understand his reluctance to just go up strong and take the contact and flush that ball.

He has an amazing feel for the game which makes his offensive mindset and results even more frustrating. The good news is I expect him to keep improving,
