With 3 more seasons of Stewart and 2 more with KML, it's hard to think anyone will beat them anytime soon. They lose Faris who is a great player but everyone else comes back. Geno could win a bunch more, the guy still loves what he does and you would think he will be at UConn for many years to come.

11

The only question is if they can go 4 for 4 with Stewart. Injuries will likely determine it.

They will probably be his to lose from here on out... Well, over the next few years, of course.

Wooden has 10. Geno will at least tie him. His contract runs through 2018, and I'd be surprised if he doesn't get a crack at #11 in that span.

Now that it's too late for Warde to screw up the contract extension, anything is possible.

Being the UCLA of women's basketball would just about guarantee a spot in the ACC or B1G.

I'm thinking it's entirely possible he could win all 4 years with Stewart. I'm kicking myself for not watching them much this season, outside of the BET and march madness. That girl is something special and she's only going to get exponentially better.

I'll say 11 conservatively, and maybe 12. I think he hangs it up after this contract expires, he's got so many other ventures in life. But still, Gen0's the ducking man, as I've stated before on this board. He's never, ever going to get the props he truly deserves because he coaches females. And he still is (almost) always classy about that. Loved that he paid tribute to Louisville during the trophy presentation because he genuinely wants to see the sport evolve and get stronger. Those compliments weren't empty, Jeff Walz is one hell of a coach and this run will spark some serious recruiting opportunities for him.

And he seems like a really nice guy, too.

Minimum of 2 more in the next 3 years barring injury/injuries.

He does such a great job of keeping his team focused and doesn't cater to star players he pushes his star players harder. He will never allow any of his players to dunk like Baylor would with Griner.

We could be looking at another run like 2002-2004 or better. There's not another player in the country like Stewart.

I think he definitely wants to pass Wooden who is one of his idols. As amory stated, Geno does not get the credit he deserves.

She actually had bad stretches this year where she looked ordinary. You could tell she had the wingspan and had potential, but she looked scared, tentative, slow, etc. Didn't even win Big East Rookie of the Year.

But she sure got it figured out just in time.

She hit a rookie wall at the right time, Diana hit hers in the FF.

Or at least make UConn Women's hoops highly respected in the AAC:)

It's a great question. I think they win the next 2 years and get 3 in a row. 1 great player does not mean a NC (duh i know). But Stewart has 2 other really good players in her class - a lightning quick PG named Jefferson and a really solid (but not flashy) top 5 recruit in Tuck. For them to win their senior year, a ton will depend on who they recruit in 2014 and 2015. They only have 2 kids coming in for 2013 and one is a walk on.

The two best players on the team are Stewart (freshman) and Kaleena Lewis (sophomore). That sets them up for the next 2 years IMHO. I am not sure Geno retires in 5 years. Maybe, maybe not. Depends who he recruits. in 5 years I think he has 10 or 11. If he stays longer, who knows...?

Technically , according to your heading the answer is one. You can only win one "title". Now "titles", that's an entirely different question. ;)

They will the next two in a row to make it a three-peat. Stewart and Mosqueda-Lewis are the best players in the country during that period. With no Griner or Diggins, there is no legitimate competition.

Griner and Simms got beat. Anything's possible.

True, but they didn't have half of the supporting cast that UConn will have going forward. This team has scary potential.

Let's just keep it at surpassing Pat......the Wooden comparison, while close because of the day and age, is still ridiculous! Different game, different parities.........

Geno is a sensational coach and could coach in the mens game I have no doubt........but honestly much easier road where he is - but he built that road so that's all good! Just keep it in the same ballpark!

The chances they win more titles are pretty high. How many, who knows. The one thing that is predictable is that UConn plays such good defense that even if the O is off a bit, they are as close to never out of a game as it gets in a team sport. The chances that with two kids like KML and Stewart that they will have many off nights on O are also slim. Add in a few other darned talented kids (some already here) and you are scary good for a while.

Injuries. That's the key. UConn has had some major ones over the years. In 98, they went to the E8, but had lost Shea Ralph, Sales, and then Ambrosimova in the E8.

In 99, they lost Bird early in the season, and so essentially didn't have a PG.

And we probably all remember 2001, where they lost to ND in the FF, but were missing Ralph and Svet. 99 and 2001 were years they really could and should have won, were it not for injuries, so you can't write it off.
