What a great idea. The men’s side is also honoring legends.

Villanova should honor Shelly Pennefeather but she’s a cloistered nun. I hope she’s remembered in the ceremony-I know Harry has tremendous respect for her

Laura Lishness '91 wore jersey #10.... one of a long line of great # 10 players. Sue Bird,
of course, our current # 10 Nika, the "gnat", and one of my favorites (less great, but
a great teammate) Molly Bent, from Cape Cod before moving on to Tabor Academy. GO # 10s!!!!

Loved watching this kid and talk about using the backboard. One of my all-time favorites from days gone by, pre-bandwagon.

I've shared this before on the BY - I worked with Laura's dad for 3.5 years. He was humble, and never really bragged about her. One day, we were talking about something sports related, and he casually mentioned that she played for UConn. This was before the 1991 FF. UC WBB games were not broadcast that much until CPTV took a risk in 1993. Wish we had known sooner, as we may have made the trek to Storrs for weekend games.

What a fantastic picture of 14 beautiful young women wearing Uconn uniforms. They believed in Geno's dream of creating something special in basketball at Uconn and should hold their heads HIGH as they were the start of the Uconn tradition of basketball excellence and team play. I am so glad this was posted because it was the beginning of the Uconn legend and future dynasty. God bless ALL Uconn players, old and new for the pleasure they have given ALL Uconn fans. GO HUSKIES!!!!!!
