Kind of a false equivalence, no?

The football program wasn't really attracting top candidates. We picked a retread because the other choices sucked.
That’s true. It’s not his fault that football is our albatross. He certainly hasn’t improved it, but perhaps that’s not possible at this point.

It's not possible to field a team at UConn to be able to beat Holy Cross at home? To be competitive with teams 70-115 in college football?

With all due respect, that is total nonsense. And there's almost been no accountability because of this mindset.

You got people who make a lot of money in Storrs to find candidates that don't "suck". Hopefully next time they do a better job.

Stay in your lane, which is basketball and not football.

Yes something has to change in the football program, but they are not in a top conference like the basketball team is. They are on a island on their own.

And to think i and a couple others got raked through the coals here a few years ago for saying that very thing.

What would have happened, if Lashlee was hired as a head coach rather than Randy?
The things Randy refused to do such as play last season, throw downfield and use the transfer portal would be different.
Let’s keep in mind Randy couldn’t get it done in Maryland either. They had the Under Armour funding, membership in a major conference and DMV recruiting base advantage.
The other thing Chief would argue is that his staff is weaker for 2.0. Do we miss Foley as an OL coach? Do we miss Moorhead’s offensive mindset? Do we miss Hughes approach on D? Of course we do.

Give JC the football program. At least they'd become more physical overnight

The people that actually support the FB program wanted Edsall 2.0. That hire is on them. Benedict gets a pass, Edsall forgot his name at the the opening presser.

I am not sure that’s accurate. I think a decision was made to bring back HCRE. It didn’t work out…

Randy is not the same person that we had years back. Just look at his interviews after games now, he is no way as fiery as he was. He is just riding the wave. Need a change.

Take it to the football board.

Pasqualoni was Hathaway's parting shot at Herbst right? What followed was a roll down hill to mediocrity.

But, if Coastal Carolina, in a mediocre league, can hire a good coach and make it to the top 25 two years in a row, why can't UConn do it with the facilities and support football has? Well, has had, but still simmering below the angst.
