Can we decline to be involved with this? And yes, us and UMass are eligible for it View attachment 100479
Nah that's what they want to happen. And it's not going to. The only thing that's going to keep cfb going if it keeps heading in this direction is gambling. No one is stopping any of you from rooting for Georgia if rooting for a non-P2 school turns into an intolerable blow to your self-esteem.
Do you believe for a second this idea came from a competitive G-5 school? This is a weird idea. There’s always 15-20 G5 teams that are better than half the P5. That makes this a ridiculous premise that does nothing but make it appear that P4 schools are better than G5 schools, even if they aren’t.
Which is why the G5 coaches involved in voting are basically traitors. Any one of them with sense would just make crazy protest votes or abstainDo you believe for a second this idea came from a competitive G-5 school?
It's purpose is to further stigmatize members of the group of five, making easier down the road to cut the G-5 completely out of the CFP.

Hopefully, you’re right. However, things always seem to be just as bad as they look when it comes to this stuff.Has anyone on this board taken a class with Game Theory. I forget what it was called in the 90’s, but the advanced Management class at UConn had a lot of Game Theory.
Why would the G5 propose this? It sounds like a threat to me. If the G5, which is mostly losing money hand over fist before NIL, pulls out of D1, the addressable market for the P4 and CFP takes a big hit, which hurts the major schools.
There is also probably a legal angle which I haven’t nailed down.
It’s over. Why fight this?
It’s over. Why fight this? The G5 only had 18 players taken in the draft this year.
What is wrong going back to more regional approach for football? So? Are you arguing they should shut down their programs? Game out what happens to the sport if the G5 and below do that.
If they want to self-relegate, at least come up with a name not as derogatory as Group of 5. How about FBS Classic.
