Now that bowl season is winding down. here is a look at our first independent schedule.

1. Fresno State- beat UTEP in the New Mexico Bowl
2. Holy Cross - won their wildcard but lost in the Divisional FCS Championship
3. Purdue - trailing Tennessee in the Music City Bowl
4. Army - beat Missouri in the Armed Forces Bowl
5. Wyoming - beat Kent State in the Potato Bowl
6. Vanderbilt - no Post Season
7. UMass - no Post Season
8. Yale - finished 5th in the Ivy League
9. Middle Tennessee State - beat Toledo in the Bahamas Bowl
10. Clemson - beat Iowa St in the Cheez it Bowl
11. UCF - beat Florida in the Gasparilla Bowl
12. Houston - beat Auburn in the Birmingham Bowl

7 teams won their bowl- 1 trailing - 8 teams in total went Bowling. The I-AA cupcake was one of the top teams in 1-AA and then there is UMass and Vandy and Yale. For a first-year independent schedule, it was a difficult schedule but shows what AD David Benedict will be able to accomplish moving forward.

Totally agree and with this kind of schedule and a national profile Coach Mora at the helm, we'll see recruiting pick up. Many more 3 and 4 star kids will give UConn a listen when we come calling.

Our schedule was stronger than many of our fans appreciated.

Probably one of our tougher schedules in retrospect. A bunch of quality teams.

I think it's been fairly obvious to the most observant fans that we have been overscheduling ourselves into losing seasons for a while.

If over the spring and summer of 2021 UConn had pushed hard to the fans the home schedule would include four bowl winning teams along with HC and Yale, it could have led to better crowds up front.

Plus, an easy drive to Army for another bowl game winner.
