There are 18 schools in NC that play Division I basketball.... I root for 17 of them to do as well as possible.

Off the top of my head I don't know the answer: Does any state have more than 18 D1 schools? I don't even know if Texas or California have that many.

Hey! You’re trying to change the subject here. Duke took a 22 point drubbing on which FGCU was hoping to boost their resume for the committee. This could be similar to all those teams that had the initial wins over ND, only to find out that ND is Brutal. I guess I can look forward to the ND-Duke game for the battle of recent has-beens, or in Duke’s case “kind of recent”...

Texas has Tech, A&M, Texas, Baylor, SMU, Rice, Houston, TCU, Stephen F Austin , Sam Houston State, PVSU, Texas Southern, Texas State, UTEP,UTSA, Albiene Christian, North Texas, then a few of the recent ones like Rio Grande Valley.... TAMU-CC

I think Abilene Christian and Houston Baptist may be the most recent D1 additions in the state. Just became postseason-eligible last year or the year before, I think. And don't forget about the Southland juggernaut that is Incarnate Word! There's also Lamar and UT Arlington. So maybe about 23?
