I’m watching Undisputed on FS1 I’m sure a few of y’all in here watch as well and there is a topic where Kyle Kuzma says Andre Drummond has never been “coached up” What are some thoughts on that?
Motor has always been his biggest problem, when he's motivated he totally dominates. He can get 18 rebounds in his sleep. If Andre played with any sort of discipline or motor he’d be one of the best players in the NBA. Playing with someone like Lebron who can actually hold him accountable can do wonders for his games.
Why is Sanogo so effective with the ball in the low post and Whaley, Carlton not? Some of the onus has to be on the players themselves.
Drummond needs to coach himself, he knows what he can't do in games. Look at film, get specific help on technique, do hand/eye coordination stuff. In college he looked lost, imagine him trying to hard hedge in a Hurley defense, he would be next to Carlton on the bench.

Who the heck is Kyle Kuzma to say that?
It is good to see UConn fans pile on a former Husky because of the ignorant bleatings of a third tier NBA nobody.
Yeah. But Drummond is so weird because he may have another decade or so left in the tank and may have some crazy stats/HOF level stats in some situations when he hangs them up despite being an average NBA player. Is that we're doing? I don't care what Kyle Kuzma has to say. I love Dre, he's a great rebounder, but he's not a great NBA player.

Yup. Its very weird. He's been traded for a second round pick, then he had to pick up his option because nobody wanted him and then he got bought out because the Cavs couldn't find anyone to even trade for him...all despite being the best rebounder in the league and in his 20's.Yeah. People can talk about basketball without ball washing... just because they went to UConn...Who the heck is Kyle Kuzma to say that?

Especially this guy. Has he ever given it his best shot?People can talk about basketball without ball washing... just because they went to UConn...
That's because his strengths are basically worthless in today's NBA, while his weaknesses are strongly emphasized.Yup. Its very weird. His FG% is also artificially lowered because he plays volleyball with offensive rebounds. Counts as multiple low % shot attempts. But it's adding value because most guys wouldn't even be able to get to the ball in the first place. From these comments I don't think some of you watch a lot of Drummond in the NBA. He's actually very skilled he just doesn't always know how to use those skills and inexplicably some games he does nothing, that part is the motor.
His problem is that players of his type are supposed to be elite defenders, hopefully being in a winning situation for the first time in his career is a motivator. That's because his strengths are basically worthless in today's NBA, while his weaknesses are strongly emphasized.
This guy would disagree. From these comments I don't think some of you watch a lot of Drummond in the NBA. He's actually very skilled he just doesn't always know how to use those skills and inexplicably some games he does nothing, that part is the motor.

In a different era Drummond would be a perennial All-Star.
But because coaches and GMs have figured out a little thing called efficiency, he's closer to a punch line despite his decent to good counting statistics, especially rebounding.
