Guy was good. Hits keep on coming. Hopefully the next guy is as good or better.

I'll never Matt telling me when he first got to UConn how amazed he was by the facilities. He deserves a P2 position. He was great.

Meh. UConn was very rarely the more explosive or stronger team. Nice guy from what y'all say. He can be replaced.
Pretty much all of the strength and conditioning guys can. It seems like there's about 5% who are elite, 5% who totally ruin the athletes and then the other 90% are the same.

So then this staff position loss is likely a net neutral. Hate to lose nice guys, but we need someone that gets our guys pumped up enough to, I dunno, tackle.

Matt Balis for sure transformed bodies when he was here. Foley Fatukasi and Richard Levy come to mind.

This isn't a particularly difficult position to fill. Plenty of good S&C folks out there. No issue. Best of luck to the guy.

Go get whoever JMU's Coach is. Those kids looked pretty jacked.
unless the JMU coach is also running Biogenesis, it doesn't rly matter. our kids simply didn't have it. one more or less rep in the squat cage wasn't changing that. Need a strength coach sure, but the exercises/regimen are pretty much known; IMO there isn't a differentiator in a position like that.

In short, we need a new strengh coach soon; We need better players YESTERDAY.

Regardless of how strong the kids get, the strength coach basically sets the tone for the entire team during the offseason. He is the only coach that can spend significant time with the kids. If that dude doesn't instill a killer attitude in the kids, then it can cause a lot of issues as I suspect we saw this year.

I feel like this is true about a lot of things in the nature of dealing with people. A few polymaths, a few conartists, and mostly people who know their stuff but aren't world bending at it. It's also my feel on psychology fields

how so? asking honestly - no shade

I don’t want to repeat what others said already here. Other than in the off-season this is the guy who is in direct contact with the players the most. So you can’t overstate the impact this position can have.

Mora also hinted at this during the season when he remarked on how the JMU players had such great lower body strength. Their recruiting rankings were significantly lower than ours so they are doing something that we aren’t.

Get rid of that dude. The S&C coach killed us with lousy offensive schemes and terrible play calls and really screwed up the defense with no harm tackling and blown assigns .

Called firing the Gym teacher for students failing their exams. Unreal. Meanwhile OC Charlatan continues.

Who knows what the reason was for. Maybe he wants out of the job. Contract is up, it isn’t a firing.

I think strength coaches should be changed every few years. Players need to listen to a new voice now and then.

Why do we always assume that he did an unsatisfactory job? Maybe it was mutual. I have no idea.

Or, Mora has a contact that he prefers and can work with.

Coach King a tremendous loss. Incredible dude. Easiest dude to talk to in whole building (when RE 2.0 was there), aside from maybe Coach Baylock haha. Undoubtedly the favorite staff member among players, student staff, and even some recruits. Exceptional motivator, fun person, overall a duckin boss. That being said, it will be fun for him to get somewhere else and I guarantee Coach Mora will bring in a great guy as well.
