I agree, it was straight forward, took ownership and set a standard for the future.classy letter. Good for them.
Agreed, reddit (r/collegebasketball) is, by and large, making fun of it.classy letter. Good for them.
I never understood the desire to be angry or violent over a win. I was a sophomore living in the jungle in 99 and the last thing I wanted to do was throw rocks at cops or flip a car.One of the best parts of college basketball is the vitriol. But yeah, we should probably chill out a little bit. I used to get vile things yelled at me during college games and I never understood why. I didn't even PLAY, lol.
That being said, if I were a student, this letter would be my excuse to be even worse.
We beat Hillhouse AT Hillhouse in the state tourney one year and we didn’t even change after the game. Just grabbed our stuff and went to the bus….where the students/fans were waiting. Luckily there were about 10 cops to escort us out.One of the best parts of college basketball is the vitriol. But yeah, we should probably chill out a little bit. #1 reason youth sports is being ruined is parents.A parent once threatened to kill me and I had to get an escort from police when I was coaching. All because one of my players stepped over another kid a la Iverson over Tyron Lue while we were up by 20+.
And the thing was 1) I was playing my scrubs and making the kid take 3 passes before shooting to not run up the score, and 2) I BENCHED THE KID WHO WAS DISRESPECTFUL. I don't know what I could have done differently!
That is likely the case but wait until their kids are in college and act like total talking anus heads.I’m sure the students are really taking this to heart
Hillhouse——in our State of Connecticut. I am shocked I tell you, shocked. We beat Hillhouse AT Hillhouse in the state tourney one year and we didn’t even change after the game. Better than burning a coach ……..I never understood the desire to be angry or violent over a win. I was a sophomore living in the jungle in 99 and the last thing I wanted to do was throw rocks at cops or flip a car.
We did burn a couch in the quad after Ohio State, but a cop helped us get the fire going.
At least 99.99999% of the students and on student fans under age 22 will WGAS but the school administration needed to respond to that behavior. But then of course I am way over 22.
I was threatened with having my head broken reffing my daughter’s softball game over a fly ball I called a foul. The guy and his wife were arrested for distributing illegal drugs later that summer. Nice roll models those parents were and a credit to our suburban paradise.#1 reason youth sports is being ruined is parents.
3 places you probably don’t want to play at when their teams are good.We beat Hillhouse AT Hillhouse in the state tourney one year and we didn’t even change after the game. Sentiments exactly. Class.classy letter. Good for them.
