I found it very interesting that Aaliyah was picked before Reese. Although Reese's rebounding ability is special, and she plays great D, I think that AE has a more complete game, and that's why they chose her.

Have you seen his last 5 draft choices?
Yes, and on paper I don’t think they’re too bad. Shakira Austin and a pre-injury Christyn Williams are good picks, especially getting Williams at #14. Even Soares last year wasn’t a bad pick considering the immediate trade to Dallas got them a first rounder next year, which has the chance to be a much better draft class than last year.

I managed to find Mike Thibault’s post draft press conference and hearing his thoughts on Aaliyah, made me really happy she was drafted by Washington. I’m glad she’s in a situation that will give her a chance to develop and has an idea on how to utilize her skills.

Shak Austin was an excellent pick. The jury is still out on Soares. He picked Olympian Ariel Atkins and Myisha Hines-Allen. He got Natasha Cloud in the 2nd round and Kahleah Copper. Kiera Leslie was probably a miss, but most of his first-rounders have been good.
