Since 1996, CBS has carried SEC football. But according to the Sports Business Journal's John Ourand and Michael Smith, CBS will walk away from the SEC after the 2023 season and "all indications" are the sport's most-watched TV package will move to ESPN/ABC.

The mouse is set to "own" the SEC....and the SEC gets even richer...CBS gave up on the bid after raising from current $55 million to $300 million per season.

Smart move by CBS. that would have been a massive overpay, IMHO.

The SEC will get richer....add an additional $20 million or so per year to team payouts that now averaged $44 million in 2018.

The gap is getting larger as the B1G and SEC pull away..

One wonders if they can continue to have any meaningful connection to the G5. It's just different worlds at this point.
