Good riddance
Agree. Granted, we wished we had better, but we really didn't. And truthfully, he was never really used correctly anyway. He was usually used as a 6 or a 10, when he was probably best at an 8. A poor man's Gerrard/Lampard. Wasn't creative enough for the 10 or defensive enough for the 6, but could go box to box, arriving late to score, with a motor that could go all day. He never really had a 6 or 10 to work with. Mostly used with Jones who was also an 8. And like Gerrard/Lampard never really worked that well together. That's too harsh, he was a good player.
But hopefully going forward we can move on. Don't want to rely on a 32-34 year old.
Yup, he just wasn't the same player after he moved back home.
