Funny, I just heard the interview with Hurley.

Joseph, was the youngster, Coach F bombed loud beside, but Joseph gave him a thumbs up.

Practice was aloud to continue.

How incredibly lucky we are to have Hall of Fame coaches
They have a good connection with one another as well. Special.

Did anyone else in attendance, get a Neils Giffey vibe from Spencer?

And a surrogate HOF coach available 24/7. I'm talking Hurley's dad, who has been adopted.

Our brother HOF Geno has a little wisdom to convey when necessary.

I wasn't there but they aren't similar players.
Niels is about 3” taller but I like the way both shoot from outside and are capable of weaving their way into the paint, without (+) athleticism.

Anyone else with an early UConn related Cam & Solo comp?

Lots of good men and experience to lean on in Storrs. What did you think of the pod Kita? Did you hear our Facey one yet?

I don't think there's great UConn comparisons for them but I'll go with Sterling Gibbs for Cam and Jerome Dyson for Solo.

When you look at some comps statistically based on what makes Cam "Cam", the only Big East guys that come up over the last 15 years are Darrun Hilliard and Shamorie Ponds. (TS%>57, 3pt>37% on 8 3PA/100, 15% assist rate and less than 15% TO rate, >3% steal rate). Going to other high major guys, you get Marcus Sasser, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Santiago Vescovi, Jordan Woodward, and even Sindarius Thornwell. Some really awesome names.

Hilliard is by far the closest comp (with Sasser #2). Specifically the 2015 year, when he was the best offensive player on a top 5 Nova team that earned a 1 seed. Not going to lie, this list got me hyped .

And then a guess at what Solo might do at UConn. He could be a pretty unique player too. I filtered (with his AAU stats and some scouting reports in mind) high major guys between 6' and 6'5" that make a high % on 2s (>49%), but less than 35% on 3s (on not zero but not a lot of attempts), with a good steal rate, an existent block rate (>0.5%), a moderate usage rate, and a decently high free throw rate.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the Solo Ball comps...

Other names that came up with different criteria:
Delon Wright (high end outcome)
VIctor Oladipo
Russell Robinson (won a title with Kansas)
Chase Ross (freshman this past year at Marquette that they are very high on)

Solo will be a fan favorite. Can’t wait to see his impact.

Strong list. What do you think he averages on our team?
