I'm guessing they'll hire with a start-date of the day after the season ends and while some names may leak the formal announcement won't be made until the day after the season, with those coaches hitting the road immediately to recruit.

Also, three of UConn’s greatest players were from Fairfield County. Trevardo Williams, Scott Lutrus, and Dan O. Don’t forget John Sullivan the big Greenwich lineman.
You forgot Donald Brown (NJ) and Jordan Todman (MA). No offense to Trevardo or Scott but Brown and Todman deserve to be on the greatest over those two.

What should have the optimists (I am one) most encouraged is his track record for finding quality assistants.

His first offensive line coach (Adrien Klemm first five years) is now offensive line coach with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Klemm's replacement, Hank Fraley is now offensive line coach with the Detroit Lions.
His first defensive coordinator, Lou Spanos left for an LB coach position with the Tennessee Titans (we all know Spanos)
Spanos' replacement, Jeff Ulbrich was on JM's initial staff as a LB coach is now defensive coordinator with the New York Jets.
Ulbrich's replacement, Tom Bradley (I will be surprised if he doesn't end up here) went on to coach DB's with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
His running backs coach, Kennedy Palomalu is now running backs coach for the Minnesota Vikings.
His WR coach, Eric Yarber is now WR coach for the Los Angeles Rams.
His TE coach, Rip Scherer is now TE coach for the Los Angeles Chargers.

One of the aspects that RE 1.0 excelled at (but couldn't replicate in v2.0) was finding quality assistants. As good as many of his assistants were, one ended up at similar jobs for NFL teams. We can make jokes or pass on some snide, sarcastic comments (I often do this by nature) but even if it is the Lions or Jets, it is still an NFL job.
Quality post with solid research right here.

I am available to refer candidates. PM me with your qualifications.
I am very offensive and can co-ordinate. My teams never run the ball on 1st down and always pass the ball at least 10 yards down the field. Never heard of the delayed hand off play.
Pay me only for wins. My players always have eye discipline and know how to execute.

Yes but are you capable of designing fake punt plays at random times during a game ?

You should reread some of the posts in the thread, those posts were about great UConn players from FAIRFIELD COUNTY!!!! Brown and Todman were great players no doubt, but were not from Fairfield County or even Connecticut. Take your meds Doc.

There are three people that I know of (and likely a half dozen or so beyond that) who can be announced immediately after the job posting runs its course.

My guess is that we will officially some names prior to the end of the season but that roles won't be specified until the staff is complete.

I have a strong suspicion that there are two or three key candidates that Mora a) can't offer a job until their current school finishes playing and b) may not accept. The final make up of the staff and the roles of a couple who will be announced early will depend on those candidates.

I would disagree with 2: He needs to evaluate players and have honest conversations with those who likely won’t see the field. There is a serious lack of talent on this team. He should honor all scholarships if players want to stay but they need to understand situation.

He does immediately need to begin identifying and working on keeping core players.
We have 50 Freshmen and 26 sophomores who have been thrown on the field with very little experience and a few years away from physical maturity . Disingenuous to say that we have no talent.

We have very little talent on this roster. That’s awesome that you think differently but I think we are watching different games

Much of the talent, and some in state kids we had, (which in my mind was a huge red flag after Edsall returned) transferred out not too long after Edsall came back. Tyler Coyle, Keyion Dixon, Taj-Herring Wilson, Ryan Gilmartin, and others. Coyle went to Purdue IIRC.

P and Edsall were both NFL coaches as well. NFL coaches don’t have to recruit. And you don’t know that it wasn’t Mora’s background that helped these people to NFL jobs.

Again, I’m not knocking Mora and I understand that in many ways related to how the hiring was perceived this was a great hire. But telling me he sends his assistant coaches to the NFL doesn’t help me conclude that he’s going to be able to turn things around here. I wish it did.

Getting excited again. The excitement of getting Mora started to turn to nausea a little. Same stuff started to get a little over reported...

Basically looks now like we'll know what our staff will look like in about a week.

THEN, once next Saturday's game ends the page officially turns.

We get to get back to getting this thing rolling in the right direction again.

For once it looks like we have all the right pieces in place (starts with Admin on down) to make that happen.

Goals right now should always be Bowl games or bust first...my opinion anyways
