UConn up two spots to #18. Marquette at 10, Xavier 16, Creighton 19 and PC at 20.

Borges voted the good guys at 23. Whatever.

AJax is the lone UConn rep for Big East honors this week with his double-double vs. the Hall.

4 teams between 16-20. 10 visits 19 tomorrow. 20 visits 18 Wednesday. Xavier must be licking their lips, they are home vs. Nova and @ Seton Hall this week while the other 4 BE teams are going through some really tough games

Borges is weird.

Creighton is 18-9 with 4 losses to unranked Texas Tech, Nebraska, BYU, and Arizona St.

UConn is 20-7 with losses to unranked St Johns and Seton Hall.

Creighton has no ranked wins outside the BE, UConn has 2, including one over Alabama.

Creighton has 3 ranked BE wins, UConn has 2.

Polls are good for the brand. I’m just happy to be regularly ranked again. KenPom etc. are what actually matter for the tourney. I think we are in a pretty decent spot on all fronts as of today. This is going to be a big week for us. It’s just about time for the hot teams to hit the gas and the peaked teams to hit a wall.

In other words, time for Newton to bring everything he’s got.

Regardless of how he ranks us I’m basically throwing Dave Preston’s rankings out the window. He consistently has the most ridiculous rankings out there. Ranking Southern Miss after they got smacked by South Alabama this week is quite the move.

Had never heard of him. Now I know why. His obscurity was well deserved.

Wow.

I know this is not how it works but UConn vs. Southern Miss on a nuetral is about UConn -9. Very possible 4/13 matchup in the tournament.

It's a problem though because it appears the selection committee is much more interested in polls than metrics. When you're top 10 in metrics but #20 in the polls, you get left out of the top 16 seeds.

Seth Davis has us ranked higher than DiPaola, Rothstein, Vitale & Borges.

This is proof we live in a multiverse.
I think he just throws things at the wall and sees what sticks. He moved TCU from unranked to #11 after a week where they went 1-1 with an 11 point loss to Iowa State and a 25 point win over Oklahoma State. The loss wasn't bad by any stretch but that's a pretty massive jump based on those results

Last year I think Arkansas and Illinois were the only teams outside the top 16 in the AP poll to get a top 4 seed. Houston and Iowa were the two bumped out.

Year before it was only 1, Purdue got a 4 seed while being ranked 20th over SDST who was 16th.

If we take care of business over the next 2 weeks we should see a nice bounce. Even 3-1 over the past 4 would be a big help.
