Legendary coach Don Shula has died at age 90. Still the only NFL coach with an undefeated season.

He also holds the record for the most career wins by an NFL head coach at 347. RIP coach Shula.

Not only a great coach but a great human being. We sometimes throw that description around to make the person look a little better than what they were but in the case of Coach Shula words cannot describe what he meant not only to football but, more importantly, to his family and the countless number of people he helped. When his son suffered the tragic accident that left him paralyzed Coach Shula spent the remainder of his life working tirelessly to raise money for other accident victims. And just as an aside, he was All-Pro as a player.

Only one of three Dolphins head coaches with at least one full season of coaching, that had a winning record. He had more playoff wins then the other coaches playoff games combined. Don Shula had coached in 31 playoff games, won 17 and lost 14, while all of the other playoff games totaled 10 games and had a 3 and 7 record.

Sorry to have to correct Steelerone but Shula's son was not the one who was paralyzed. Your thinking of Nick Buonicatti a MLB who played for Shula in Miami. It was Buonicatti's son who was paralyzed in a CFB game. Don Shula"s sons are David and Mike. Mike was the HC at Alabama before Nick Saban and spent the 2019 season as the OC for the NY Giants. David once was the HC of the Bengals in the NFL but has been managing Don Shula's Steakhouse and Grill restaurants for a long time now. Buonicatti did indeed spend his life raising money to find a way to restore functionality to victims of spinal cord injuries.

Very sad. I was a big Miami fan when I was younger, and living in GA. Early 70's.

Very nice correction and being respectful to @Steelerone . Well done.
I had a cousin who was a bigwig for GM and Chevy. Don Shula was a man that he got to know through his work and was always praising about what a great person Don was.
