It sounds like this was on Sunday morning before he found out that he tested positive because it was never brought up. Some absolutely hilarious tidbits about the current team, especially some of the freshmen that I have not heard before and a hint about another unnamed committed recruits from the 2022 class that I did not know about.

This was the Middlesex Chamber of Commerce breakfast that Geno speaks at every year right before the NCAA tournament. This year’s was virtual for obvious reasons.

This was Monday morning so Geno already knew about his positive test.

Interesting, Geno said he has 2 commitments from the class of 2022 and may get 1 or 2 more. We know about Brady. Who is the 2nd? There will be an announcement this Saturday so I guess we’ll have to wait and see if she’s the one.

Yeah, I meant Monday morning, not Sunday morning. I guess it was not public knowledge at that point that he tested positive because nobody asked him about it, It would be interesting to hear who the 2nd commit is from 2022.

My guesses in terms of likelihood:

Bransford [corrected name]

Patterson--the timing would be good!

Rice

Edit: After discussion with one of my consultants, I think it's not Bransford. Patterson could be the one!

Very complementary of Saylor(smart and quick) at the end and Azzi as a great all around player that the all just finds the basket and is at least as good a shooter as Kalena etc.

Thought I would do a little research on Big G's conference championships from the first one in 1988-9 season.:
Old BE 25 years so 50 total championships and Uconn went 39-11 or .780
AAC 7 years, 14 championships 14-0 or 1.000
New BE 1 year 2 championships 2-0 or 1.000

Across both leagues: 33 years, 66 championships 55-11 or .833

Add in 3 years before 1988-9 season 6 championships, 0-6 or .000

36 years coaching 72 possible conference championships, 55-17 or .764

In New London, CT there is (or was) a dive bar just below the campus of Connecticut College and the Coast Guard Academy that was called "Mr. G's", I am tempted to refer to Geno now as Mr. G instead of Big G.

Could be one of the M sisters from Europe, isn't one a 22 and the other a 23? He also seems to think there will be another 1 or 2!!!

Another M sister? Hmmmm!

Sorry for the mix-up on K.K.'s name. It's Bransford, not Branson.

K.K. has been on campus, with Saylor and Caroline. She attends the same high school where Mel Thomas went.

He says Azzi's shooting is uncanny. The ball just goes in. At the high school level, her shooting is as good as that of Dee, Sue, Lou, and Kaleena. K was known for "The Lewis Launch." I've seen Azzi 10x. She's working on beating Stef Curry.

math is off just a tad: "Old" Big East - UConn won 19 reg. season titles (incl. 3 shared) and 18 conf. tournaments = 37 titles. The rest is correct, thus Auriemma/UConn has 53 total conference titles.

I always worry about having too many players. You know that somebody will transfer if they don't get enough PT. The crap shoot is you don't know who will make that decision, with the possibility that it could be one player that we really need down the road.

With all of the transfers this program has endured over the last decade, how many times has this happened? How many of those players went on to do big things post-UConn where you kick yourself and think if only they had stayed? I can't name any other than EDD who never played a game here, and her situation was unique.

Last time I watched one of these, the Seattle Mariners' GM lost his job for some callous remarks. So nice to have Geno to provide solid information in a professional but hysterical manner. We are privileged.

I loved his comments about SNY and Fox. He loves SNY and as for Fox... We were new to them but they will learn how we do things... Not an exact quote I would think but that was the gist of what he said. Fox will learn...

So Caroline Ducharme is only "6-0 or 6-1", according to Geno? I thought she was consistently listed as 6-2.

I guess we have to wait for the measurement in Hartley Units.

Woops counted the new BE ones in with the ole BE ones and then forgot when I split them. Thanks for the correction
