Translation..... The Presidents of the ACC have not received an offer to join another conference at this time. Therefore, we are committed.

If memory serves correct, BC's leadership made a similar statement of commitment and loyalty to the BE circa 2003 after initially being passed over by the ACC initially. The were committed right up until the point in time where they received an offer.

"But we're smarter than Louisville", sniff,sniff...

So, given the fact that three of the schools that pledged loyalty to the ACC are STILL IN THE BIG EAST...

Why are they allowed to play in the Big East Tourney, while UConn (which has been the conference's flagbearer for the last 2 decades) stays home?

Because the Big East has forced them to stay around. West Virginia had to sue to get out early. Syracuse and Pitt would gladly leave. The Big east won't let them. Unless they pay lots of money.
