Unless something has changed SMU's arena opens for the UConn game on the 4th. It is being targeted as a "White Out". That could be a very challenging road game for UConn.

Side Note: Tarik Black (Kansas from Memphis) 3.5 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 50% at the line with his minutes cut in half.

A poor mans Alex O. Bet your glad he flew off to Lawrence with a "Please play me" mentality.

Sure will, bet on it. We are once again the resume builder for our conference.

We've yet to play home games with Louisville, UConn, Gonzaga, Cincy, and Temple...so ours numbers should get close to 17,000.

Congrats, you're still not winning this toilet bowl of a conference

Going up against Louisville and UConn I doubt we win the regular season...but I think we can take the conference tourney on our home court. (where we win over 90% of our games)

Very glad Tarik is gone...his dad would call the post game show and complain about minutes.

I'd like to take UM's home venue and drop it on UCONN's campus. UofM has been a good poster- but dude you won 90% of your home games because you played cupcakes all season long. Temple , SMU, Cinn are all better teams the you are used to playing during the regular season.

No doubt, if you are Memphis fans, the AAC is the best conference you've been in since the BE raid of CUSA and if you are a UConn fan this is the worst conference since the Yankee conference. That certainly contributes to a lack of excitement at UConn and the continued excitement Memphis experiences.

On the other hand, this Memphis team should be better than last year's.

The kid Joseph Young at Oregon realized how incredibly awful his previous coach was (Houston) so he flew the coup, and now he's one of the nation's top players. Houston would have had Daniel House, Joe Young and a couple top ranked kids, but they still would have lost.

So far we've knocked off: #5 Georgetown, #8 Gonzaga, #17 Arizona, #22 Marquette, #25 UAB, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Mississippi, Cincy, UMass, St Johns, Xavier

since opening FedExForum 9 years ago.

Yah, well, UConn is 11-1 against top 25 competition in the last 12 games!

It's been really hard for us to get big teams to play us at home...we're going to try and really enjoy this season.

no need for this, and it's a solid basketball conference this year

after the Cards leave, we need to have other teams step up and I believe they will

exposure brings recruits, the FL and TX teams have fertile grounds and Larry Brown is one hell of a coach

Agreed. We are stuck with this conference for now. UCF had a surprisingly good football season (surprising to me at least). That was nice to see as they aren't leaving next year. I want to see all the teams in our conference improve. Sure I want to be elsewhere, but if that never happens, we better pray our conference improves in leaps and bounds. I'd love to see UCF and USF improve in hoops. SMU should be good very quickly.

I just try and remember I'm a visitor here...it's your house.

If the wife lets me loose, can we ask for good suggestions where to eat, catch some blues in Memphis for the AAC tourney? Is downtown safe to walk around at night? I honestly have little interest in Memphis (sorry); but, will make the best of it.

I think that's specifically 11-1 in our last 12 against out-of-conference teams in the top 25 (surely we've gotten pasted by top 25 opponents in stumbling to mediocre conference records the last 4 years), but it's extremely impressive nonetheless.
