It appears that Notre Dame's hockey team will likely be joining Hockey East, since their current conference got cherry-picked by everyone else, and eventually merged into another conference. The word was that ND was potentially holding out for either the new B1G hockey conference, were it to join in football, Hockey East, or a third newly created conference which apparently ND is not interested in. That ND is supposedly joining Hockey East makes it that much less likely that they join the B1G in football. Of course, that could all change in a matter of five minutes, but take it for what it's worth.

I'm not getting you honestly. They are not ready to join Big10 now. They were already in Hockey East and left. Sure they think they can use that conference again.

Notre Dame was never a member of Hockey East. The reason they weren't joining the Big 10 out of the gate is because they weren't going to allow ND without all of their other sports, so ND was left to choose between Hockey East and the new NCHC, or join the Big 10 if they moved all of their sports. The NCHC was always said to not be something ND is interested in, and now it appears they're joining HE. So there's no re-joining or using of leverage. HE is just fine without them as now the strongest conference in the country with the WCHA broken up. So if they don't come, it's not a very big deal to HE.
