I HATE when State basketball teams have to play at the Conte Forum. It's usually especially bad for women, since so few people ever attend the games, and I imagine there will be almost noone in attendance this time because of COVID. We had to play BC to open up ACC play up there last year, too.

4:45 left 1st quarter...BC has nailed three THREEs..NC State a little slow out of the gate with more turnovers than shots made. 11-4, Eagles. Elissa Cunane with 2 points for NC State but also one foul already.

There appear to be more cardboard cutouts in the stands than people who normally attend BC games.

End of 1st quarter...Boston College with a 20-14 lead. BC shooting 38.1% from the field, 4 of 9 from THREE. NC State shooting 25% on 4 of 16 from the field, 0-4 from THREE and 6 of 7 from the FT line.

Elissa Cunane with 8 points for NC State. Mikayla Dickens and Marnette Garraud with 6 each for the Eagles.

Rebound battle even at 13 each. NC State has 5 turnovers...BC has turned the ball over 2 times.

4:54 left in the second quarter...BC up 24-20 and going to the line when play resumes. NC State has finally nailed a couple from long range, from Kayla Jones and freshman Genesis Bryant. Elissa Cunane on the bench with two fouls for NC State.

Will BC run out of gas or will they pull a PITT in the fourth quarter?

Halftime: Boston College leads 32-27. BC shot 39.4% in the first half, was 42.9% from THREE on 6 of 14 shooting and 0-1 from the FT line. NC State's shooting percentage is now 30%, was 3 of 12 from THREE and 6 of 7 from the FT line.

Kayla Jones leads NC State with 10 points, Elissa Cunane with 8 and Jakia Brown-Turner with 4. The Wolfpack Women grabbed 22 rebounds (4 by JBT) and turned the ball over 8 times.

Boston College was led by Makayla Dickens with 9 points, Cameron Swartz 7 and Marnelle Garraud and Jaelyn Batts 6 each. The Eagles turned the ball over 6 times and had 21 rebounds.

hmm. This wasn't the situation I excepted to see when I tuned into this one just a minute ago (45-60 BC).

End of 3rd quarter...BC used a barrage of THREEs to push the lead back out to 60-47. The Eagles have hit 10 THREEs in this game (10 of 23)...NC State just 3 of 15 from long-range.

Elissa Cunane has 17 points for NC State, Kayla Jones 14 and Raina Perez 6. The Wolfpack Women are only shooting 31.8% for the game.

Makayla Dickens has 17 points for BC, which is shooting 46.2% for the game.

Foul trouble is looming for BC, though.
