You get 30 days from the date a coach is fired to enter the transfer portal and get a free transfer. I believe they can still use a redshirt year if they transfer before the next game, you can play 4 games and use that year as a redshirt year

I don't imagine the athletic departments at Georgia Tech, ASU and Nebraska are highlighting that fact for their players.

Unless you are a senior, you would have to think long and hard about not showing up to another practice. You are more valuable as a transfer now than you will be at the end of the season.
